The weather is decidedly July in DC, humidity increasing with the heat but that hasn’t stopped us from our daily training in and around the neighborhood.
We still have issues with Beau screaming with excitement when he sees other dogs, but my trainers are giving me some things to try and I believe will make a house call in the next several weeks to see what I am doing that can be refined. Our training classes are going very well and I am continually amazed at how relaxed Beau is surrounded by other dogs who aren’t as relaxed. He is making me look good 😊 and we are learning a lot. It is a great refresher for me since it has been YEARS since I worked a dog.
Despite the continued challenge there, Beau is doing so well with his obedience commands. We’ve been working in a nearby churchyard several afternoons a week and in a parking lot at night once it cools off.
Beau has taken to sniffing whatever flowers he can find, which I find completely adorable. He reminds me of Ferdinand the Bull.
I’ve removed the Breathe Right strips from his ears but kept all the supplies, in case I need to get them back in. No expert am I, but I believe his ears may be done. Time will tell but they are looking good.
