Beau Works His Footing

We train every day. From ensuring Beau sits when I open the door to go out for a walk to making him “kennel up” before he can have his dinner, there is always something for him to do. To me, having a well-behaved dog makes for such a nice life, inside or out and about. So, we train every day.

Sadly, I still have issues with Beau reacting to other dogs and continue to interview trainers but other than that he is close to the perfect dog (is there such a thing?). He is getting better at staying calm in the crate and I think some of our issues will work out as he continues to mature.

I’ve been working with Beau on his proprioception (sense of body position and self-movement) using anything we find outside (tree stumps, boulders, parking blocks) and inside by setting up obstacle courses using what I have. I think he has fun doing these and, since he has learned the “perch” command, Beau seems to perch wherever he can. Such a sweet pup!
