The National Cathedral is one of my favorite places in DC. The stone towers rise above the trees like something out of another time, and in November the grounds glow with fall color. Walking here with Beau feels restorative for the soul and inspiring for the heart.

Beau doesn’t need a reason to enjoy it. He enjoys just being with me in that space, completely in the moment.

For me, these walks are a reminder of balance. Training and titles matter. We work on CGC skills, trick dog routines, and everyday obedience. But they are not the whole story. Sometimes the most important practice is simply walking together, side by side, taking in the world at our own pace.

A cathedral in autumn. A dog at my side. That is more than enough.
