On July 24th, Beau turned 4 years old. He had cake from https://www.okraandmolly.com that he shared with the other dogs in the building and got a few gifts to open, too!

I cannot believe that we have been on this journey for that long. We are still a work-in-progress, and I am not sure the training journey ever ends, or should, ever end – especially when it is so much fun to learn things together. Our daily lives are so full of joy and little adventures and there is never a dull moment (even when I might want one 😁)

Beau has lots of dog friends and people friends, he is the unofficial mascot of my condominium board, and helps me teach all my classes at the club. He is my alarm clock, personal trainer, security system, co-pilot, willing model when I get new photo gear, taste tester, court jester, and my constant companion.

As I do every year, I take Beau’s birthday portraits and this year, I did two shoots – one at sunrise on the National Mall and then, at home with a studio set up when his birthday cake arrived. As always, he was patient and let me shoot to my heart’s content.
