Just in time to avoid the Independence Day crowds downtown, Beau and I got up with the sun and went to the National Mall to get in some skills practice amidst a manageable level of distractions. I was really pleased with his focus in light of runners, cyclists, dogs, pigeons, rats, and lots of set-up for the 4th concert and fireworks event. It wasn’t perfect, but it was better than I thought it would be.

Not a bad backdrop to our practice, eh?
